Joint Intergovernmental Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation Between Russia and South Africa Held a Regular Session

 

On 20 July 2021, the regular 16th session of the Joint Intergovernmental Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Russia and South Africa (ITEC) took place. Due to COVID-19-related restrictions, the event was held online for the first time.

The session was chaired by heads of the ITEC national chapters – Minister of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation H.E. Mr.Alexander Kozlov and Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa H.E. Dr.Naledi Pandor and attended by representatives of state authorities, companies and organizations of both countries.

A wide range of issues of bilateral agenda was considered, as well as prospects of cooperation in investment sector, energy, agriculture, science, education and other spheres of mutual interest.

The parties agreed to carry on collaborative efforts to broaden the legal framework of Russian – South African relations.

Participants of the event confirmed their mutual commitment to strengthening bilateral partnership and enhancing ITEC’s role as the coordinating instrument of Russian – South African interaction.

The parties’ agreements have been reflected in the minutes of the session.
